    Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to share updates to our U.S. Cancer Statistics Data Visualizations tool that will make it easier for you to explore the cancer burden among different populations in the United States.

In addition to updated data on cancers diagnosed through 2019, which we announced in June this year, the Data Visualizations tool now includes:

Accurate determination of disease burden is critical to identify health disparities. The new race and ethnicity categories represent US populations more accurately and help reduce racial misclassification in cancer data.

U.S. Cancer Statistics are the official federal cancer statistics on the U.S. population. These statistics combine cancer registry data from CDC's National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program.

Many people use these data to understand how cancer affects the nation and people in their state and county, create and evaluate prevention programs, conduct research, reduce health disparities, and improve cancer outcomes for all.
