The Markey Cancer Center is seeking an Abstractor Coordinator Senior Regional (Regional Abstractor). This position is responsible for collecting detailed cancer information on behalf of the Kentucky Cancer Registry for cancer patients diagnosed and/or treated in multiple Kentucky non-hospital facilities. Data are abstracted through chart reviews that may be conducted in person or through remote electronic health record (EHR) access. Data must follow national coding standards established by the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program, the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and the American College of Surgeons. Data are collected using a wide variety of software applications and EHR systems. Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (formerly Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification) is essential.
