The Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States (CBTRUS) announces the publication by Oxford University Press of its latest report, CBTRUS Statistical Report: American Brain Tumor Association & NCI Neuro-Oncology Branch Adolescent and Young Adult Brain and Other Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumors Diagnosed in the United States in 2016-2020. The Report is a Supplement to the Society for Neuro-Oncology's journal, Neuro-Oncology, and is available online at www.cbtrus.org through a Free-to-View web link by clicking on Reports and Tables. Data collected by the CDC's National Program of Cancer Registries and NCI's Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results program were analyzed for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) ages 15-39 years resulting in an incidence rate of 12.00 cases per 100,000 with an annual average count of 12,848 cases (3.21 per 100,000 for malignant tumors and 8.79 per 100,000 for non-malignant tumors) for all primary brain and other central nervous system tumors in 2016-2020. The overall prevalence for AYA as of December 31, 2019 for all primary brain and other CNS tumors was estimated to be 208,620 cases. The efforts of hospital tumor registrars, central cancer registries, and staff from NPCR and SEER to collect accurate and complete data have contributed to making this report possible.

Partial funding of the CBTRUS data resource resulting in the AYA Report was provided by CDC under Contract No.75D30123P17556. The contents in this report are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views either of the CDC or the NCI.
