2025 CBTRUS Report Available

The Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States (CBTRUS) announces the publication by Oxford University Press of its latest report,
CBTRUS Statistical Report: Primary Brain and Other Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumors Diagnosed in the United States in 2018-2022. The Report
is a Supplement to the Society for Neuro-Oncology's journal,
Neuro-Oncology, and is available online at
www.cbtrus.org through a Free-to-View web link by clicking on Reports and Tables. Data collected by the CDC's National Program of Cancer Registries and NCI's Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results program were analyzed resulting in an incidence rate of 26.05 cases per 100,000 [6.86 per 100,000 for malignant tumors (128,865 cases) and 19.19 per 100,000 for non-malignant tumors (360,853] for all primary brain and other CNS tumors in 2018-2022. Among children ages 0-14 years, brain and other CNS tumors are the most common cause of cancer death, and the second most significant contributor to cancer death in adolescents and young adults. The efforts of oncology data specialists at hospitals and treatment centers, central cancer registries, and staff from NPCR and SEER to collect accurate and complete data have contributed to making this report possible.
Partial funding of the 2025 CBTRUS Report was provided by CDC under Contract No.75D30123P17556. The contents in this report are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views either of the CDC or the NCI.
