  • 1.  VA Facility Reporting Question

Posted on behalf of Nancy Lebrun:

    Hello all!

Are any registries actively receiving cases from your Veterans Administration?  If so, how are they submitting the cases to the registry?  What format are they using: WebPlus, Secured File Transfer system, another way?

    Thank you for any response.

    Nancy

Hi Nancy, AK received a large file from the central VA registry for I believe 2011-2022 cases, and they suggested at least annual transmissions going forward. They sent the file via our Web Plus.

Thank you Julie!  We are working with our local VA and are having a problem getting them to use a sFTP or ShareFile (which is sFTP).  Our IT is still working with the VA IT (over a year now).  It's just so frustrating!

Facilities in Arkansas and Nebraska use Web Plus to submit their cases.

We regularly receive transmissions from VA hospitals in Wisconsin - they use Web Plus to submit. We have not yet received transmissions from the central VA registry (only recently had talks with them).

Could have sworn I responded to this but not seeing my reply so giving it another go. In Wisconsin, we get regular submissions from our VA hospitals via Web Plus. We have yet to received transmissions from the central VA registry like Julie mentioned (we only recently had talks with them) but anticipate receiving those through Web Plus as well.

Edit: Seems there was just a lag on it getting posted. Cheers!

In New Jersey we don't get cases directly from our VA facilities. 2005 was the last diagnosis year the VA hospitals reported to us directly. Hopefully we'll get them soon, but right now we are only receiving cases from the linkage that SEER does.

Our local VA will only submit cases via their secure email system which is a Microsoft product. It seems to work fine and it makes them happy...

    Good morning,
Oklahoma received a file from one of our VA hospitals in August 2024. The file was in NAACCR v22 XML layout because their software had not yet been upgraded to NAACCR v24. We've also received files from this hospital in the past. It had been several years since we had received data so they sent data from date of first contact 2010 - 2023. They've always uploaded files to Oklahoma's Web Plus platform.
