Central Cancer Registries may be interested in a new HL7 FHIR Implementation Guide coming up for ballot August 12 – September 12, 2022. The title is Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Structured Data Capture (SDC) on FHIR. The Implementation Guide uses a form-driven workflow to capture and transmit data from the College of American Pathologists electronic Cancer Checklists (eCCs).
The balloting process is an opportunity to provide input on structured laboratory data standards. Learn more about this and the other standards up for ballot at https://confluence.hl7.org/display/HL7/HL7+Balloting. Please see attached summary of the balloting process.
What you can do!
- Review the attached slides to understand the process for voting (HL7 members) or providing comments (via NAACCR for non-HL7 members).
- Be on the lookout for a NAACCR listserv e-mail announcement once the ballot is open (on or after August 12) and review the documentation.
- Attend a NAACCR Talk in the last two weeks of August for more information about the Implementation Guide and why it's important for registries. (Announcement coming soon!)
