In celebration of National Cancer Registrars Week, on behalf of the NAACCR Board of Directors, we wish to recognize all the talented and dedicated cancer registrars throughout the world. Oncology Data Specialists are the life blood of the endless work necessary to document each cancer patient's journey, from diagnosis, through first course treatment, and long-term survival. Registrars sort through the volumes of information to get the facts right for over two million cancer cases in North America each year!
Hospitals and population-based registries could not report accurate information to cancer committees, cancer control programs, and the national and federal agencies without the deep knowledge, skills, determination, and hard work of our registrars. Without them, we could never measure trends in cancer incidence nor plan and evaluate cancer prevention and control programs throughout North America. This critical work saves lives!
We rely on you, we value you, and we will forever support you and your work as we work together to modernize cancer surveillance. With admiration and appreciation, NAACCR salutes the profession and the outstanding individuals who deliver the data that continuously informs and reduces the burden of cancer in our communities.
Thank you!
