Recognizing the Contributions of Cancer Registrars and Public Health Workers

On behalf of the Surveillance Research Program, which manages the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program, we want to recognize National Cancer Registrars Week and Public Health Week!  

Every year, over 2 million people receive a life-changing cancer diagnosis. Every day, cancer registrars and public health workers diligently and professionally document these cases. 

SEER owes its 53 years of existence to the steadfast efforts of front-line cancer registrars and public health workers. Their tireless work enables researchers to turn data into discovery, public health officials to set screening guidelines, and healthcare providers to prevent and treat cancer.
