    Please see below for information on the HTI-2 Proposed Rule, published this week by the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator. Among many other things, it includes an update to cancer reporting standards under new public health provisions: HL7 FHIR Central Cancer Registry Reporting Content IG, 1.0.0 - STU 1 and addition of pathology lab reporting: HL7 FHIR Cancer Pathology Data Sharing, 1.0.0 - STU1 by January 2028.

    New! HTI-2 Proposed Rule

    The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), today released the Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: Patient Engagement, Information Sharing, and Public Health Interoperability (HTI-2) proposed rule. The HTI-2 proposed rule is a continuation of ONC's focused efforts to advance interoperability and improve information sharing among patients, providers, payers, and public health.
     
    ONC will be hosting information sessions in the coming weeks, including an overview session on July 17 at 2:00 PM ET.

    The proposed rule is available now on HealthIT.gov/proposedrule.

    There are fact sheets and measurement specification sheets for more detailed information of the proposals in the HTI-2 proposed rule available on ONC's website.
