Job Opportunity:  Associate Director of Registry Operations

Deadline to Apply:  May 16, 2021

This senior management position plays an essential leadership role in registry operations at the Kentucky Cancer Registry (KCR).  The KCR serves a uniquely cancer burdened population with exceptional needs for high quality and timely data that are used extensively for cancer prevention and control planning and evaluation and cancer research.  We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking individual to continue our history of excellence in registry operations and help us adapt to the rapidly evolving cancer data ecosystem.

The Associate Director of Registry Operations oversees the daily operations of the KCR, supervises all data collection and quality assurance activities. Duties include participation in the development and execution of major grant and contract proposals. This position supervises a team of certified tumor registrars and other operations staff who are responsible for data capture, management and reporting of all cancers diagnosed and treated in the state of Kentucky. This position plays an important role in strategic planning for the modernization of KCR operations through the adoption of emerging informatics methods for data capture and the expansion of the cancer registry dataset. Experience in the operations of a population-based central cancer registry is essential.  Extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of both hospital and central cancer registry data standards and operating standards is also required. Familiarity with population-based cancer research, data governance, and the protection of patient confidentiality concerns will be beneficial.  This position also provides an exciting opportunity to participate in national and international cancer surveillance activities.
