    NCRA is hiring a Cancer Surveillance Central Registry Operations position.  This FT; permanent and remote position will have some US travel in the future. Candidates must be a Certified Tumor Registrar with a minimum of 5 years of experience at a central cancer registry.

     

    Summary
    Experienced central cancer registry professional with CTR accreditation to support CDC and their NPCR awardees with expertise around key central registry operational processes including call for data preparation and submissions.

    Responsibilities and Activities

    Data Submissions Related Activities:

     

    Assist in the preparation, review, and updates for NCPR's-Cancer Surveillance System (CSS) annual call for data and submission specifications.

     

    Review and provide guidance in preparation of NAACCR Prep configuration file(s), NPCR-CSS XML User Dictionary, and CSS GenEDITS Plus.

     

    Assist in the review and updating of NPCR awardee edit sets and NPCR-CSS submission edit set(s).

     

    Provide support and technical assistance to NPCR awardees and CDC in the areas of QC of edit files, resolution of edit error issues, and data file preparation.,

     

    Serve as Subject Matter Expert during collaborative Call for Data meetings with CDC, IMS, and NAACCR.

     

               Data Quality and Analytic Activities:

     

    Provide expertise and technical advice to NPCR internal data quality activities and in the development of NPCR data quality evaluation (DQE) auditing plan. 

     

    Serve as Subject Matter Expert for analytic projects and promote understanding in areas such as; data item collection, availability and usefulness, along with making recommendations for data items to be collected.

     

    Provide technical consults to address researcher's questions related to NPCR data collection, data use, and data interpretation.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    Certified Tumor Registrar with a minimum of 5 years of experience at a central cancer registry.

    Experience with Registry Plus suite software.

    Demonstrated experience in registry operations, with a focus on data preparation and submissions.

    Hands-on experience with selecting edits, creating edit sets, and selecting data items for quality checks.

    Experience in completing the death clearance process.

    Strong knowledge of NPCR requirements and data linkages.

    Excellent communication and organizational skills.
