    The California Cancer Registry (CCR) has a terrific job opportunity!

     

    The CCR is a state program operated by the California Department of Public Health through a grant with UC Davis Medical Center Sacramento (CalCARES program, Comprehensive Cancer Center-UC Davis Health System).

     

    The CCR is seeking to hire a full time Business Analyst/Automation, CTR Preferred (Job ID: 16619).

    • Incumbent would be employed by the University of CA Davis, working in the central statewide California Cancer Registry.
    • This position is based in Sacramento California, however, experienced remote applicants are being considered.

    Job Responsibilities for Business Analyst/Automation:

    • Acts under functional guidance and direction of the Informatics / IT Operations Manager operating as the recognized certified tumor registrar (CTR) specialist on the development, support and maintenance of complex automation designed to reduce manual work effort needed to complete cancer cases within the database.
    • Responsible for applying incumbent's cancer data processing knowledge in assisting to help capture, analyze, and optimize the collective business knowledge of Certified Tumor Registrars in a suite of automation solutions where and when feasible to support improving cancer case data quality, timeliness, and completeness.  The position utilizes CTR skills to analyze, document, design, develop logic, unit test, and debug automation intended to streamline efficiencies within the database.
    • Is a cancer registry business process expert and assists in defining needs for automating manual practices so that a complete set of cancer business rules and standards (~10,000) are captured into a programmable automation solution. The incumbent devises or modifies procedures to solve and automate complex cancer case processing activities within the cancer registry data management system.
    • Monitors all national standard setter annual data changes to determine revisions needed to existing CCR manuals, and updates and maintains the California Cancer Reporting System Standards, Volume 1: Abstracting and Coding Procedures.
