The Alaska Cancer Registry (ACR) is currently recruiting for a Cancer Registrar I/II. This is an essential position with ACR and is responsible for collecting and managing clinical cancer data submitted by healthcare facilities such as hospitals, physician offices, pathology laboratories, and other state cancer registries. This person participates in quality control activities using guidelines established by the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR), serves as a resource for facilities that report cancer data, and participates in ongoing cancer surveillance activities. The Cancer Registrar I is expected to participate in training, learn how to do these activities under supervision, and pass their Certified Tumor Registrar exam within two years; whereas, the Cancer Registrar II is expected to conduct these activities with limited supervision, have attained their Certified Tumor Registrar credentials.
This position is located in Anchorage. Currently ACR staff members work together 1 day a week in the office and telecommute from home 4 days a week.
