Hello NAACCR Listserv Members,
I have attached a document that may be of historical interest to the NAACCR community -- the very first version of Volume II, Data Standards and Data Dictionary. It is dated 2/14/1994, 27 years ago, and was published by "AACCR", the American Association of Central Cancer Registries. The editors are Herman Menck and Jennifer Seiffert, and the AACCR president then was John Young. At that time the AACCR record layout was 5300 characters long, and there were 187 data items, including the reserved fields. Also, none of the data items were numbered. Who could have thought back then that the record layout would have evolved to what it is today?
Sincerely,
