We're actively recruiting and actually have a new CTR coming on board first week of April. One of the challenges is getting equipment to them, including a desktop/laptop that's fully configured by our IT support team that they can use on their first day. We're not supposed to be back in the office until at least April 13th. If we cannot get equipment to them on time, we'll have to train them remotely with no confidential data as they use their personal computer. Tasks would include reviewing procedural documentation, completing casefinding/coding practice, etc.

We have a couple positions open and need to hire, but we have been asked to work remotely. Our University has not restricted hiring, but I wonder what the pitfalls might be. Does anyone have experience with hiring and onboarding staff remotely?
