Subject: Enhanced Version of CDC/NPCR GenEDITS 5 Released
An enhanced version of CDC/NPCR GenEDITS Plus 5 is available on the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/npcr/tools/edits/edits50.htm
This version includes the following enhancements (version 1.0.0.39):
- In preparation for reading NAACCR XML files, the NAACCR item number has been added to the reports. This replaces the column start number that was displayed previously.
- The ability to run edits on XML files
- The ability to create CSV reports
- The ability to run batch edits on multiple files simultaneously
CDC/NPCR GenEDITS Plus 5 was developed in .NET and requires version 4.5.2 of the .NET framework. If you do not already have the .NET framework installed, contact your local IT staff for support.
Download CDC/NPCR GenEDITS Plus 5, setup_geplus5_32bit_2019Sep18.zip (compressed file, 10.5 MB, September 18, 2019) to your Windows desktop or another location. The previous version of GenEDITS Plus 5 should be uninstalled before installing. Double-click the program's icon to begin the setup program. If someone else is responsible for maintenance of your computer, you may not be able to install the software. In this case, consult the administrator of your computer for assistance. Instructions for using CDC/NPCR GenEDITS Plus are in the Help document installed with the program. Press F1 to open the Help file for a description of the functions and controls.
